I was 24. I had already been working and renting for three years and felt it was the right time to buy my own property. The stumbling block was that house prices were continuing to rise and I did not have enough money to put down as a deposit. A friend asked me if I would consider buying a property with her and it proved to be the perfect solution for us. We worked out how much we could afford, the kind of house we wanted and the area we wanted to live, as well as the percentage of the property that each of us would own. We started doing some research on the web and came upon www.co-buyaproperty.com. The website gave us all the information we needed to proceed with our purchase. It directed us to the right mortgage provider, a local surveyor and local solicitor. We received excellent advice from a wide range of service providers and have now been in our house for six months.

I had been saving for a deposit for a house for three years, but house prices just kept going up. I had a salary of 24,000 GBP, so the most I could afford to pay for a house, including my deposit, was less than 100,000GBP. I realised that the longer I waited, the more difficult it was going to be to buy my house. My financial position meant that it was impossible for me to buy on my own and I decided that co-buying might be a good option. I found the www.co-buyaproperty.com and decided to put my details on the database. Within a short period of time I received a number of approaches from other people who wished to co-buy with me. After researching all of the leads I decided to get in contact with the person who I felt would be the ideal partner to buy my first property with. It all worked out very well and after a number of discussions, we agreed to co-buy. We are both delighted that the house purchase worked so well and we couldn't have achieved our aim without the help of the website.
